July 8th - 9th: Romanshorn / St Gallen / Cycling Lake Contance

After two fine day's in Zurich, the weather turned cold and wet for or first serious ride.  Shelters like this over some bridges were built to withstand snow storms.

Our first experience of Swiss cycle routes was positive with generally good signage and good sealed or gravel paths that were largely car free.  After 100 kilometres our Warmshowers host, Angela, welcomed us with a fine dinner, while informing us that we could prepare dinner for tomorrow!

Next day we went to St Gallen ( about 50 klm return ) by train ( we are getting soft). Rosemary toured a famous textile museum - Michael made the mistake of paying too many Swiss francs for the privilege of accompanying her - a quiet coffee would have served him better.

St Gallen Abbey was the main attraction with its old architecture and famous library.

No photos allowed in the library but the church offered Rococo to go!

Night two at Angela and Chistoph's and who would have thought - MasterChef World Series and Michael was cooking for Australia!  Up to my elbows in special sauce.

Dinner is served - Rosemary helped a little bit!

Heading out of Romanshorn, Rosemary met friends.
