July 18th -19th: In and around Lausanne

En route to Lausanne, we saw a number of variations on this sign.  Drivers have been very careful and courteous.  I've seen one speeding motorist in two weeks on the road

Interesting sentiments on Swiss roads

Tuckered out on top of the world

The alps are ever present even though we are not climbing them.

We have found a 4 star hotel for a very good price in Lausanne - a nice relaxed stay beckons.

Lac Leman (Lake  Geneva) is over 100 kilometres long, stretching from Geneva in the east to Montreux in the west. It seems to be forever enveloped in haze.

Looking from the south, the scene is dominated by the alps.

A little fishing is in evidence.

The old part of Lausanne

Cathedral entry dwarfs mere mortals.

The Cathedral towers over the city

Lausanne abounds with attractive, sculpture, fountains and flowers.

Great use of plants to soften the tunnel entry to the Metro.

Slumming it in our Lausanne hotel.

Rosemary posing under the Olympic Rings in Lausanne.

Spectacular flower displays line the shore of Lec Leman as we head out of town

Happy campers.
