August 3rd: Not so Bad Ragaz - another Warmshowers Delight

More lakes, tunnels, climbs, pebbled beaches and soaring views of mountains.

Sometimes the edge of the lake was too close to the hill, so we travelled through extensive tunnels.

We were happy to abstain when going up such grades with loaded bikes - such sections were brief and rare on our route.

Coffee stop where the Swiss paid top dollar for holiday accommodation on the lake.

A local enjoying the mild sunshine.

The ever present backdrop of mountains was genuinely awesome.

Ulla, our Warmshowers host at Bad Ragaz was a generous lady who was a pleasure to spend time with.  She was about the fifth host who happened to be a physiotherapist - go figure!

Bad Radaz was a popular spa town where Europeans had come to "take the waters" for many years.

The town had many examples of interesting sculpture.
