August 1st: Swiss National Day -a night in Einsiedeln

A 60 kilometre ride would see us travel from Lucerne to Einsiedeln - the home of one the most important abbeys in European history.  The route, as usual, was scenic and undulating.

The woods were populated with scary creatures!

Bonfires were at the ready for national day fireworks celebrations.

Dame Edna would have been pleased.

Coffee stop by yet another lake.

An industrious camper by the lake.

European garden lots are a treasure.

A man after my own heart.

They build em big!

Making hay: I mean milk!

The Benedictne abbey at Einsiedeln

A surreptitious snap of the amazing marble rococo innards in a church where photography was not allowed.

Day's end afforded a quiet drink or two.

Stunned contemplation!

Couldn't leave Einsiedeln without a picture of the big sausage.
